1. Acceptance
By using the OtterBot website or software, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use OtterBot.
2. What OtterBot Is
OtterBot is a free, open-source AI assistant distributed as a Docker container. The source code is available under the MIT License. Your use of the source code is governed by that license.
3. No Warranty
OtterBot is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. This includes, but is not limited to, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Use it at your own risk.
4. Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- How you use OtterBot and any output it generates
- Securing your own infrastructure, API keys, and data
- Complying with the terms of any third-party AI providers you connect (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.)
- Any content generated through your use of OtterBot
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OtterBot and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the software or website.
6. Third-Party Services
OtterBot can integrate with third-party AI providers. These integrations are optional and configured by you. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, any third-party services. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies.
7. No Guarantees of Availability
OtterBot is a community-driven open-source project. We do not guarantee uptime, updates, bug fixes, or continued development. Container images are provided via GitHub Container Registry and may be updated or removed at any time.
8. Modifications
We may update these terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted to this page with a new effective date. Continued use of OtterBot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where the project maintainer resides.
